Pyramid of Peace and Accord, Astana, Kazakhstan

ALL TEXT COPIED FROM WEB PAGE(S). EARLY EDITING STAGE.

The Opera Hall with 1302 seats, party hall Atrium, Hall Besyk, exhibition halls, gallery Kulanshi, the press center, the ethnic cultural centers of Astana, the International Center of Cultures and Religions and the Academy of the Turkic World.

Designed by the prolific and consistently high-quality Foster and Partners, this 62-metre pyramid (77-metre including the raised platform it's on) looks like an impressive modern landmark in Kazakhstan's capital and contains a 1500-seat opera house in the lower levels.

The Atrium hall — the biggest floor of the pyramid. Its area is 2185 sq.m. The floor coverage is made of white and grey marbles. Kazakh people praise white tone with great respect as it is the colour of purity, nobleness and welfare. You can see windows around the hall with warm sunrays casting though into the auditorium of Opera hall. The thickness of the stained glass is 4.5 sm (?). Between the layers of glass stretched mesh with the picture of doves. The capacity of the hall is about 400-500 people.
